Celebrating Victory: Skateboarder Elliot Sloan Clinches Gold at X Games

Skateboarder Elliot Sloan emerged victorious in the Skateboard Vert Best Trick event. This triumph marks another significant milestone for Hurley’s seasoned skateboarding pro, following his win in the same category in 2022.

During the intense 20-minute jam session with Sloan, there were several unsuccessful attempts before he executed the gold-worthy Cab heelflip Indy 720. Sloan’s incredible performance took place before a crowd of 30,000 spectators at ZOZO Marine Stadium on the picturesque Tokyo Bay. His achievement stood out among more than 100 athletes representing 20 countries, resulting in the distribution of 33 medals across 11 events spanning three sports. Elliot Sloan, a 34-year-old native of New York City, shared his emotions about the victory, stating, “The roller coaster of emotions! I was so bummed because I thought that was it. And then I realised I had another run. So there was a little bit of hope…I can’t believe I made that one!” Sloan, the X Games gold medalist, expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s nice to know that I can still do these 10 years after winning my first one.”
